Benefits You Get When You Choose Accoya
Decking is never better than when it’s made of real wood. The feel under foot of real wood, or the authentic look achieved with genuine wooden boards. Accoya delivers all this and much more.
For a low maintenance decking that withstands wear and tear in any climate, Accoya is the answer. Resistant against cracks and splinters with superior stability compared to typical decking boards, Accoya combines the charm of real wood with exceptional performance credentials. Perfect for extending your living space to the great outdoors – barefoot and fancy free.
Unlike traditional wood decking, Accoya timber decking is barefoot friendly all year round, resistant to rot and insect attack, so it creates low maintenance decking which will look its best for years with little to no work. For added safety, you can choose to add durable anti-slip inserts.
Less shrinking and swelling equals less distortion, meaning your Accoya wood decking can be laid with confidence. Hidden fixings add to its flawless finish. When left uncoated, Accoya decking weathers naturally and looks superb in landscaped gardens.
Thermal gain can cause big issues. A thermogram image analysis tested the difference between Accoya, thermally modified outdoor decking and three WPC decking variants.
The results? Accoya is the most barefoot friendly decking material available. Keeping its cool while resisting cupping or splintering.
Like any natural wood species, Accoya wood is susceptible to weathering in outdoor circumstances. All materials exposed to exterior conditions are degraded by a series of chemical, biological and physical processes.
The surface of any timber used for decking will be blemished by a combination of UV, moulds, algae, mildew, yeasts and pollution. Accoya is no exception and the initial light colour of uncoated Accoya may cause early moulds and blemishes to stand out more than on other wood types, prior to it weathering further to grey.
